Advanced Google Search
When I used word “Atlantis” for research, I had number of hits about 42,000,000 for Atlantis. Moreover, there were information about resort, movie and space shuttle. After I used advanced search with key words ‘Atlantis continent’ and put ‘shuttle’, ‘film’, ‘movie’ in unwanted words, the number of hits were about 79,900. Then we had results about the lost continent of Atlantis, which we wanted to find.
By searching “Waterbury” with one or more of these words: Vermont VT and any of these unwanted words: Connecticut CT, we had 86600 hits about travel and hotels in Waterbury, Vermont. In the above searches, we have used the terms of multiple meanings and synonyms.
For “San Diego State University,” we had 1,570,000 hits in 0.07 seconds. There was information about education in San Diego State University. When we put “San Diego State University” in exact wording or phrase, there were about 1,140,000 hits. The page was about academic programs in SDSU and public buildings in SDSU. When we typed “Bill 602P” in exact wording or phrase, we had about 112 hits. The page was about “Four Nets for Better Searching”. When we typed “We know he has weapons of mass destruction” in exact wording or phrase, we had 9 hits and the information were about “Four Nets for Better Searching,” Singapore Properties, and advanced search. When we typed “demonstrating genuine leadership” in exact wording or phrase, we had 70 hits, and information about “Four Nets for Better Searching,” Department of Educational Leadership, politics, and a journal of incisive ideas.

http://oncampus.richmond.edu/academics/education/ – it goes to http://education.richmond.edu/
http://oncampus.richmond.edu/academics/ – it goes to http://www.richmond.edu/majors/index.html and talks about majors, school programs, and graduate programs in University of Richmond.
http://oncampus.richmond.edu/ – about the organization of University of Richmond’s campus.
http://www.longwood.k12.ny.us/wmi/wq/collin/index.html – page is not found
so we went to http://www.longwood.k12.ny.us and find “WMI.” Then we went to http://www.longwood.k12.ny.us/wmi/ but couldn’t find anything about Shakespeare.
We tried different ways such as http://www.longwood.k12.ny.us/wmi/wq , http://www.longwood.k12.ny.us/wmi/wq/collin , and http://www.longwood.k12.ny.us/index.html but still couldn’t find about Shakespeare.
Then we searched the site in Google, and we had this page with the name “Untitled Document”. Finally we found the site that shows the information about “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare.
We searched http://www.ssischool.org/ in find pages similar to the page and the information that we had were about other international schools in Vietnam and about Phu My Hung. The numbers of hits were about 27. When we searched http://www.ssischool.org/ in find pages that link to the page, we had 4 hits and information about SSIS, UNI Overseas Recruiting Fair, and about Vietnam.
When we searched kids.msfc.nasa.gov in find pages similar to the page, we had about 27 hits and information about Kids’ education. When we searched kids.msfc.nasa.gov in find pages that link to the page, we had 606 hits and information about Science Resources, Summer Library Program, and NASA Robotics.
What I learned from google search is that if we use google advanced search, we can find the accurate information faster. Moreover, while I used adcanved google search, I learned some signs too. For example, if there are unwanted words, you can use negative sign (-) to get rid of that word.
Another fact that I learned is if the page is unfounded, I can search that site in google and find that site.
Lastly, I learned how to find similar pages and the page that links to. From now, I can research more accurately and easily…

My element is silver. Atomic number of silver is 47. It’s solid and metallic. It does not have exact discovered place but it is mostly found in China. The symbol came from the Latin word argentum. There are 47 protons and electrons and 61 neutrons. Pure silver has a brilliant white metallic luster. It is a little harder than gold and is very ductile and malleable. Pure silver has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of all metals.

Yesterday was international day and our school did some activities and simulations. The title was ‘A day in the world’s shoes.’ First, we made bags to empathize people in the poverty. They always make bag and if they made 200 bags, they only earn $0.25. In poor countries, there are only 1 toilet and 200 people use that. And then we did simulation to understand how hard if you have handicap. My homeroom went outside to do another activity and it was choosing the survival materials. After that, we moved to room 401 and did activity that is related to global issues. For example, it was different how to treat people who are CEO and people with no money.
The fact that 45% of population are living with under $2 impact on me. I did not know that much people are in poor condition. Also, they die because they starve… they don’t have any food to eat. I realized importance of the food. Moreover, I felt that they really need help from other people.
Finally, I learned that I can help poverty people even I am a teenager. When I grow up, I will be a doctor and I will provide help to them…
